Like many people I got into using larger quantities of this powder due to owning a 6.8 I feed a regular diet of my hand loads. It’s straight up amazing behind any bullet I’ve loaded it behind in that application and always get my highest velocities from it. I do get slightly better accuracy from LT-30 but I will continue using 2200 as my go to. It’s also one of my favorites for my 458 SoCom with flat base 300 grain bullets (Barnes Original Flat Nose) but with a caveat- to get it not to leave unburnt powder in my barrel I need to go nearly to max load in the manual and could never get it to burn cleanly with a Barnes TTSX in 458 SoCom no matter how much I played with the charge/primers. But to be fair, they never listed this powder for that particular (458/TTSX) bullet. It meters amazingly, it gives greater velocity than many other powders I’ve tried in 6.8. It works in several other cartridges too, I even like it in my 30-30. But in my experiences to get it to burn cleanly you’re needing 35,000 PSI minimum (easy for 6.8, but the limit for 458 SoCom) and near 100% case fill. It’s a very good powder, where it works it gives great velocities, but it is picky in certain applications it’s listed for in the hand loader guide from manufacturer too.
